Born Heinrich Albrecht Gotfruend, he soon proved himself as an able litigator and lawyer. He was Ghouled while still working for German political counsel on treaties, but was eventually embraced a short 30 years later in 1769. His Kindred career went very well and he was eventually given the opportunity to prove his worth when in 1994 he was 'appointed' as a young Elder to become Prince of Chicago, to rebuild (from scratch) 'the Jewel of the Camarilla'.
His reputation as a strict Camarilla enforcer of Tradition is well known. "Captain Camarilla" was a 'nickname' given to him at a 1998 Conclave in Chicago. Heinrich was also well-known as an able representitive for many Justicars, even at Conclave, as well as a tutor of Traditions to their Archons.
In 1997, he and Archon Malcolm Starr, were instrumental in bringing the Ventrue Clan Directorate to North America.
In 1999 he was asked by Dread Lord Thraxx, Justicar of Clan Brujah, to become Prince of Winona and help those citizens with understanding the Traditions. While he was an able leader, Kindred like Don Lorenzo de' Medici made it particularly difficult.
Although, it's also true that his intollerance for Malkavians and anarchs (as well as Nazis) was also well known. He could be seen as a difficult sire since he believed the Clan could lead with only the use of their In-Clan abilities. He believed this so much so that he only learnt In-Clan disciplines to prove his point.
