Biography: Ya'ara De'Silven was born to a merchant family in rural Lithuania in the year 1930. Her mortal name was Prane. A rather wealthy "rich aunt" came into town and took an interest in Prane's family. The woman presented Prane's family with an offer: give the woman Prane and her first cousin so that they could be given opportunities otherwise not available to them. As Prane's family was large and rather poor, they were not hard to convince. Prane and her first cousin went to live with the woman, Numenas. Prane was ten years old.
Numenas, centuries before, had been mortal queen of Lithuania. She had been embraced during her husband's reign, ghouled her husband and ruled through him until the war for democracy. During the war the King was killed and Numenas fled into the woods. She wandered around Europe for awhile, slept for a while, and awoke to find a modern world she could not connect to as easily. She decided to find a childe to aid her in her adaptation. Her interest in Prane was founded in the fact that Prane's family, being fairly rural, still held on to many superstitions and pagan beliefs from the older times.
Prane was embraced by Numenas when she was 20, in the year 1940, and given the name "Ya'ara De'Silven" as her new identity in the Night. Her first cousin became Ya'ara's handmaiden and ghoul, and was given the new name "Le'Laya". Ya'ara remained under Numenas's accounting in Lithuania for fifty years. For the last ten or so years she accompanied Numenas to many of the Domains in Europe, watching and studying the art of power and leadership. Upon leaving the accounting, Numenas sent Ya'ara to New York. Ya'ara needed to learn the one thing Numenas could not teach her: New World Kindred Politics. Ya'ara came with only some limited resources, a ghoul from her Sire by the name of Oren to act as her bodyguard, and her handmaiden Le'Laya. She established a haven in the Domain of the Hudson Valley where she quickly became recognized. She became Keeper of Elysium in 2003. She stepped down as Keeper to become Harpy in 2005, and serves as such at the present.
